A build earns its place by making a useful question easier to test or a security task easier to perform. ## Design before tools State the purpose and constraints before the equipment list. Sketch the trust boundaries, permitted paths and observation points. Decide how to recognise success, how to inspect failure and how to return to a known state. A reproducible build should name its versions and dependencies, distinguish required components from conveniences, and explain the tradeoffs behind the design. Record deviations from the expected result; they are often the part another reader needs most. ## Keep the lab boundary visible Examples should use synthetic identities and deliberately isolated test data. A lab diagram describes the experiment it accompanies. It does not reveal a private operational network or imply that the same design was deployed elsewhere.
